| "I may as well let you know straight up, this is not the place for a snowmobiler's beer bash, but if you want a great place to sleep, ride, and not have to worry about getting ripped off, then you have just found the ideal spot. Auberge Mekinac has everything a snowmobiler needs, including peace and quiet. The little service bar closes at eleven every night, and the lights go out. The entire place is locked up tight and the all night security guard does the rest. We sleep well. In the morning, we have a delicious home cooked breakfast while overlooking the river. The wood stove roars. We pour over the trail map and talk about which loop we want to take, then head out, together. We fill up our sleds with gas and ride. When we get back at the end of a satisfying day, a hot meal is waiting for us with a cold Canadian beer. We share our experiences, play cards, tell lies, then go to bed. We've been there and done that, and got all the tee shirts. We have nothing to prove. We are seasoned sledders, and proud of it. We generally obey the law, ride safe, and have memorable days on these good trails. If you think you have what it takes, come and join us.
